Nancy Scott is a local sewing instructor with a wide variety of experience. Growing up in an artistic family and raised in a floral-and-bridal business gave her a great base to draw from. Nancy started with Singer sewing lessons as a young teen. She won “Singer Ms. Teen Award” in her 2nd year of sewing. After graduating from high school, she began teaching at the Hampton Village Singer store where she began her lessons at.
Nancy also has 15+ years experience in figure skating. This, along with her sewing knowledge gave her many opportunities to create many skating practice and show outfits. Today Nancy specializes in swimwear and teaching Pre-teens through Teens how to sew.
Growing up in a floral shop, a very art focused family and Interior Design college background enables Nancy to have a keen eye for design. She has assisted many people with sewing Home Decor' items for their homes.
During her sewing career, Nancy has sold to both the wholesale factory industry and retail sewing dealers. She has sold Singer, Bernina and Baby Lock machines at Singer, SoFro Fabrics, and Eunice Farmer Fabric. She has also worked for Baby Lock as a Product Support Specialist.
Nancy is referred by Hancock and Jackman's Fabrics.
Nancy has run the After-School program at Parkway's West and South Middle Schools for 10 years. And has been a member of the American Sewing Guild for 20 years.
Nancy has had her own teaching business “Seams So Easy” Sewing, where for the past 20 years she has taught adults, teens, children and Girl Scouts.
Today Nancy gives specialized private instructions. And Girl Scout badges.
She is an Interior Design Consultant for The Fabric Co. in Chesterfield Valley.
